PETALING JAYA: Perak state speaker Ngeh Koo Ham lodged a police report tonight that a man received RM100,000 for his role in lodging a rape report against a state executive councillor, The Star Online reported.

The report said this was the man who had brought an Indonesian maid to lodge a police report over her alleged rape.

Ngee said he received the new information after a meeting with the man at a hotel here at about 6pm Thursday.

“I’ve met the man face to face, in the presence of other YBs.

“He said he received RM100,000 and was also threatened by a man with a gun not to tell anyone about it,” the online news portal quoted Ngeh as telling reporters after lodging the police report.

“Based on this new information and report, I hope the police will investigate the matter further,” he said.

Earlier, it was reported that state exco member Paul Yong Choo Kiong was expected to be charged Friday in the Sessions Court for allegedly raping the 23-year-old maid.

Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu had also advised the Tronoh assemblyman to take leave from his duties in view of the case.

Star reported that Ngeh believed a plot had been hatched against Yong, 49.

“We will only bring the man and disclose further information during police investigations.

“We also want to protect him and hope the truth will be upheld.

“It is only when the case is fully investigated that we’ll know the agenda behind this accusation,” the news report added.
