Govt to return RM21.7 million in alleged 1MDB funds to 11 entities

THE government will return RM21.7 million in alleged 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) funds belonging to 11 entities and individuals. In proceedings before a three-member Court of Appeal bench today, deputy public prosecutor Kamal Bahrin said the prosecution had withdrawn its appeals against the respondents.

Maybank rolls out ‘kill switch’ to prevent online scams

MALAYAN Banking Bhd (Maybank) has introduced a “kill switch” for customers to deactivate their Maybank2u web and the MAE app access should they notice transactional discrepancies or believe that they have been scammed. In a statement today, Maybank said the kill function is part of its efforts to combat online scams.
