Ringgit slips against dollar before release of crucial inflation data

THE ringgit traded lower against the US dollar today as investors await the US January consumer price index (CPI) figure, the first for the year, scheduled to be released tomorrow to gauge the future path of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy.  At 6pm, the ringgit eased to 4.3575/3625 against the greenback from Friday’s close of 4.3320/3350.
