Portugal lifts lid on child sex abuse by Catholic clergy

AN independent inquiry into child sex abuse by members of the Portuguese Catholic clergy since 1950 is due to publish its conclusions today after recording hundreds of victim accounts.   Thousands of reports of paedophilia within the Catholic Church have surfaced around the world and Pope Francis is under pressure to tackle the scandal.  

No change in licence yet, says Lynas

CONTROVERSIAL rare earth miner Lynas has yet to receive any change to its licensing conditions amid speculation that it will no longer be allowed to produce radioactive waste in Malaysia.  The Australian-based company is currently seeking a three-year renewal of its operating licence, which expires in March.

Dr Noor Hisham: Sale of two cosmetic creams banned, found to contain mercury

PUTRAJAYA: The sale of two cosmetic products of the brand name Karisma, namely its Turmeric Booster Cream and Flashhskinzz Treatment Cream, are no longer allowed in Malaysia as they are found to contain mercury, which is a scheduled poison, says Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
