MOH to prioritise upgrading facilities for 50-year-olds

THE Ministry of Health (MOH) will utilise the RM36.3 billion allocation received through Budget 2023 by prioritising the upgrading of health facilities nationwide, especially for those over 50-years-old. Its minister, Dr Zaliha Mustafa, said the ministry had identified 1,200 health clinics categorised as dilapidated or affected by the high operational burden during the Covid-19 pandemic.

SPM candidates detained for criticising history paper

TWO teenagers have been arrested after a video of a student criticising the history paper for this year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) surfaced on social media. According to reports, Hulu Selangor district police chief Suffian Abdullah said the duo were detained yesterday to assist in an investigation after receiving a report from a teacher.

Belarus’ Lukashenko to visit China

THE deferment of payment and discounts for National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) borrowers announced in the Budget 2023 will be implemented soon. Ministry creates task force to address diesel subsidy leakage

THE Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry has set up a special task force address the problem of diesel subsidy leakage. Its minister Salahuddin Ayub said he had ordered the task force, led by ministry secretary-general Azman Mohd Yusof to act immediately to prevent further misappropriation of subsidised fuel.

Penang govt pledges support for airport expansion project

THE Penang government has promised to allocate all resources required by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) for the Penang International Airport (PIA) expansion project. Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said he has asked all state government agencies, especially the District and Land Office, to facilitate the project’s progress.
