Fewer victims displaced by floods

THE number of flood victims in three states fell slightly with 42,459 people placed at 235 temporary relief centres as of this evening compared with 42,909 this morning.  IN JOHOR, total flood victims continued to decrease to 39,315 people in nine districts at 2pm compared with 39,620 at 8am as more victims returned home.

3 die in boat collision off Pangkor

THREE women were killed when two boats collided in waters off Pangkor, near the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) base, at about 9pm yesterday. Manjung district police chief Nor Omar Sappi said the identity of victims, aged between 26 and 43, who were pronounced dead at the Navy Hospital in Lumut, had yet to be ascertained.
