No more EPF withdrawals, says Rafizi

THE government will not be populist in allowing Employees Provident Fund contributors another round of withdrawals, said Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli.  He said withdrawing from the fund would drastically reduce its size and severely impact its ability and flexibility, hence limiting its investment option strategies and eventually impacting dividends paid to contributors. 

Venezuelan oil minister resigns over graft probe

VENEZUELA’S oil minister Tareck El Aissami resigned yesterday after prosecutors opened a corruption investigation into officials at the state oil company PDVSA. Anti-corruption police on Sunday arrested two people closely linked to El Aissami – top PDVSA official Antonio Perez Suarez and Joselit Ramirez, who manages oil industry funds through cryptocurrencies.
