Police confirm child bitten by children of similar age
THE injuries of a child, reported to have been bitten while at a nursery in Putrajaya, is said to have been caused by children of the same age. Putrajaya district police chief ACP A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the matter was confirmed by medical personnel after the child was referred to Putrajaya Hospital for treatment.
Iraq president slams Turkish bombardment of Kurdish region
IRAQI President Abdel Latif Rashid condemned Turkey today for bombarding an area near Sulaimaniyah airport in the autonomous Kurdish region, a flashpoint between the two governments. “Turkish military operations against the Kurdistan region continue to take place, the last being the bombardment (yesterday) against Sulaimaniyah civilian airport,” Rashid said in a statement.

Over 200,000 veterans to receive Raya financial assistance on Apr 17
OVER 200,000 Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) veterans, including non-pensionable ones, will receive Raya special financial assistance amounting to RM350 each on April 17. Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari said the disbursement proves the unity government is concerned about veterans, especially non-pensionable ones, and wants to help ease their financial burden in preparing for Raya.

EU condemns attacks in Israel, urges ‘restraint’
THE European Union today condemned deadly attacks in Israel and a barrage of rockets fired from Lebanon that triggered Israeli strikes and called for “restraint”. “The EU expresses its total condemnation of these acts of violence.
