Stocks wobble as US inflation cools

GLOBAL stocks wavered while oil prices rallied yesterday as investors digested official data showing that US inflation cooled in March. US consumer prices rose by 5.0% last month on an annual basis, down from 6.0% in February, the figures showed. It was the smallest increase since May 2021 and better than forecast by analysts.

Malaria vaccine gets green light for use in Ghana

A MALARIA vaccine developed by Britain’s Oxford University is to be used in Ghana, the first time it has received regulatory clearance anywhere in the world. “The vaccine has been approved for use in children aged 5-36 months, the age group at highest risk of death from malaria,” the university said in a statement.
