Ramanan appointed Mitra special committee chairman

SUNGAI Buloh lawmaker Ramanan Ramakrishnan has been appointed special committee chairman of the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (Mitra).  According to news reports, four others – Senator Sivarraajh Chandran (MIC), Klang MP V Ganabatirau (DAP), Segamat MP R Yuneswaran (PKR) and Mitra director-general K Raveendran Nair – were also appointed to the committee. 

China says ‘political manipulation’ behind US arrests

CHINA said today that “political manipulation” was behind the arrests of two men the United States accused of setting up an unauthorised Chinese police station in New York.   Authorities in the city also charged dozens of Chinese security officials over a campaign to monitor and harass US-based dissidents.
