Zakir Naik, Penang rep settle defamation suit

CONTROVERSIAL Muslim preacher Zakir Naik and Bagan Dalam assemblyman Satees Muniandy have reached a settlement after both agreed to record a consent judgment. The consent judgement was recorded at the Kuala Lumpur High Court before judicial commissioner Johan Lee Abdullah, with Zakir, Satees, and their legal teams present.

No offer to PAS to be in unity govt, Zahid says

DEPUTY Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said no unity government leaders made any offers to PAS to join the current administration. He was refuting claims made by PAS there were parties offering it to join the current government, a matter that was not even discussed officially among the 19 party leaders or even among coalition chairmen. 

DPM announces high-level sports committee to develop fresh talent

A HIGH-level committee (HLC) has been established to focus on talent development models for combat sports, athletics and swimming, said Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Cleaning agency director fined RM300,000 for cheating Socso agent

THE Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today fined a cleaning company director RM300,000 for deceiving a Social Security Organisation (Socso) agent on the Penjana Kerjaya hiring incentive programme, amounting to RM236,080, two years ago. Judge Azura Alwi handed down the sentence on M. Karthikesan, 44, after he pleaded guilty to the five charges.
