RECENTLY, the United States enacted a law called the Inflation Reduction Act allocating US$374 billion (RM1.63 trillion) in green incentives to tackle the climate crisis. The implementation of this law is intended to trigger a boom in clean energy, creating thousands of jobs. Similarly, the European Commission is proposing a green deal industrial plan that includes US$240 billion in loans and US$21 billion more in grants to subsidise green businesses, green technology projects and related initiatives.
