Japan lawmaker arrested over alleged casino bribes

A JAPANESE lawmaker was arrested on suspicion of accepting bribes worth tens of thousands of dollars from a company that wanted to build a casino, Tokyo prosecutors said today.

Tsukasa Akimoto, a former member of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s ruling party, received JP¥3 million in cash in 2017 (RM113,340), prosecutors said in a statement without identifying the company.
