THE labour market has expanded 2.5% in the first quarter of this year with 16.7 million people, compared with 16.3 million persons in the same period last year, according to the Labour Market Review First Quarter 2023 released by the Statistics Department today.
Chief statistician Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the labour force participation rate year-on-year increased to 69.8% from 69% in the same period last year.
