Study finds Asian heatwave made 30 times more likely by climate change

CLIMATE change made record-breaking deadly heatwaves in Bangladesh, India, Laos and Thailand last month at least 30 times more likely, found a study published today.

Parts of India saw temperatures above 44ºC in mid-April, with at least 11 deaths near Mumbai attributed to heat stroke on a single day. In Bangladesh, Dhaka suffered its hottest day in almost 60 years.
