EU watchdog backs GSK’s RSV vaccine for over-60s

THE European Union’s drug watchdog has recommended approval of pharmaceutical giant GSK’s vaccine against the RSV respiratory virus for over-60s, the British firm said today. There are currently no authorised shots for the common virus, which causes cold-like symptoms in most cases but can be serious or even deadly in vulnerable older people.

Thai woman charged with cyanide murder as list of victims grows

THAI police have widened their investigation into a woman accused of a spate of cyanide poisoning murders, with officers today raising the number of victims to 13 and charging her with premeditated murder. Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, who is married to a senior policeman, was arrested on Tuesday over nine alleged murders that took place over several years.
