Berlin court overturns May 8-9 ban on Ukrainian flags

A BERLIN court has overturned a ban imposed by the German capital’s police on Ukrainian flags around Soviet monuments on May 8 and 9, police said today. Police had prohibited both Ukrainian and Russian flags at three Soviet memorials in the capital on the two days, when the end of World War II is commemorated. 

MMEA rescues 79 passengers, crew after ferry catches fire

AT least 79 passengers and crew escaped unhurt after a ferry heading towards Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI) jetty from Pulau Redang caught fire this afternoon. Terengganu Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) director Mohd Khairulanuar Abd Majid said the agency received a report from the Maritime Rescue Sub Centre in Kuantan at 3pm.

Govt finalising reserve land handover to Sabah, Sarawak

THE process of handing over the federal government’s reserve land in Sabah and Sarawak to the two states is now being finalised, said the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) Armizan Mohd Ali.  He said the process was in accordance with the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
