CHURCH leaders and politicians in Sarawak today lauded Putrajaya’s decision to withdraw its appeal against a High Court ruling allowing Christians to use the word “Allah” to refer to God. “We welcome and applaud the federal government’s wise decision,” Kuching Anglican bishop Danald Jute said.

3 killed in New Mexico shooting
AN 18-year-old gunman killed three people and injured several others, including two police officers, in a shooting in a New Mexico city yesterday, law enforcement said.
