Guatemala’s president-elect eyes charges against AG, judge

GUATEMALA’S president-elect is seeking to bring charges against the country’s attorney-general and a judge he claims are part of a “persecution” plot against him, according to a court document obtained yesterday.

It is the latest episode in a tug-of-war between Bernardo Arevalo and authorities who have repeatedly moved to act against the politician and his party after he unexpectedly won a presidential election last month.

Pakatan’s Nazri sworn in as Simpang Jeram rep

SIMPANG Jeram assemblyman Nazri Abdul Rahman was sworn in today at the Johor assembly session at the Sultan Ismail Building, Kota Iskandar today.

Chip designer Arm targets US$52 billion valuation in year’s largest IPO

BRITISH chip designer Arm is targeting a valuation of more than US$52 billion (RM243.4 billion) for its initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq exchange today, according to a company press release. 

Arm, whose semiconductor design is integrated into the vast majority of smartphones worldwide, has priced its shares at US$51, the firm announced yesterday, ahead of the largest IPO New York has seen for almost two years.
